Clean Water Project
A solar powered plant in Cholistan, and pumps wherever they are needed.
About this programme
PCF installs water pumps and water filtration plants on behalf of our donors, in places where clean drinking water is not something people can take for granted.
Our largest is the Sea Water R-O Plant in Cholistan, near Darbar Haider Shah.
Cholistan had experienced the worst conditions of drought and water scarcity due to lack of rain, and most of the ponds had dried up. Over 175,000 people relied on water from those ponds, and they were forced to consume unclean water. The TDS of the ground water had been recorded up to 14,000, which is unfit for any sort of consumption.
PCF initiated this project so that the local people could have access to sweet water, which is their basic need. The plant runs on solar power.
A water pump for a village costs from Rs 50,000.
